St Peters Close is a premium 13-lot residential subdivision located on the Escarpment in Mt Lofty, Toowoomba. The development’s close proximity to the edge of the Toowoomba range required significant geotechnical investigations to inform the design.
RMA Soils was engaged as the lead geotechnical engineer, taking the project from due diligence through to materials testing during construction. Our initial works included a slope stability risk assessment for submission to council. The report outlined the investigation results and analysed the potential risks of the site. The report also outlined specific potential hazard areas, the risks within these areas and provided risk mitigation measures to reduce the risk level. This report was critical to demonstrating land suitability for development, leading to the development approval.
We provided the construction materials testing for the subdivision, including bulk earthworks. Our analysis included the cut and fill for allotments, including infill through a drainage gully, service trench installation and road pavement construction. This included Level 1 Inspection and Testing and Level 2 Sampling and Testing (AS3798) during the construction.
During our onsite works, we also provided advice on the subgrade material below the fill and monitored the fill material that was being used.
