Habitat at Mt Kynoch is a master planned community located north of Toowoomba, comprising over 800 residential and commercial lots.
The site’s steep terrain posed significant geotechnical challenges, making early investigations critical to the project’s feasibility and civil design. RMA Soils was engaged during the preconstruction phase to carry out broadscale geotechnical investigations, including test pits, bore holes, and slope stability assessments. These assessments provided essential data to guide the design and ensure safe development across the sloping landscape.
During construction of Stage 1, which included 81 residential lots and an external intersection upgrade on the New England Highway, RMA Soils delivered a comprehensive suite of services. These included inspection and testing for building platforms and sewer pump station, as well as roads, service trenches, and highway upgrades. Concrete testing was conducted for retaining wall foundations, pedestrian bridge abutments, kerbs, and footpaths. RMA also performed platform inspections throughout construction to assess the suitability of supports for cranes and concrete pumps, a critical consideration given the steep terrain.
As a trusted regional leader in geotechnical solutions, RMA Soils commitment to delivering reliable geotechnical results was evident in every phase. Our quality results are backed by consistent quality, experienced personnel. Our values of innovation, teamwork, and respect were reflected in their collaborative work with project stakeholders.
