The Charker Street subdivision is a 2-stage development located in the southern Toowoomba suburb of Kearneys Spring. Stage 1, currently under construction, will comprise 53 lots and will continue strong development in the area. RMA Soils was engaged to provide comprehensive geotechnical and material testing services, working with project engineers and contracts to meet quality and compliance standards.
Our involvement began with a broad-scale geotechnical investigation across the entire development footprint. This critical phase informed key design elements such as retaining wall parameters, pavement design, preliminary site classification, and assessment of geotechnical hazards. It also evaluated material suitability and excavatability, enabling the client to make informed decisions early in the process.
As construction commenced, RMA Soils transitioned to on-site material testing to maintain quality control throughout the build. Compliance testing focused on compaction control, incorporating both field and laboratory density assessments to verify earthworks compaction. This included Level 1 Inspection and Testing for allotment platforms requiring fill and Level 2 Sampling and Testing for roads, road widenings, and service trenches.
